Cone 6 YYC is a welcoming, shared pottery studio designed for independent making in a calm, respectful environment. It’s a space for both newer and more experienced potters who value creativity, shared care of tools and a friendly, considerate studio culture. Minimal guidance is provided, making it best suited for those comfortable working independently while enjoying a shared creative space.

For safety, consistency, and kiln longevity, only cone 6 clays and glazes may be used or fired in the studio.

If you’re unsure whether a material is cone 6–safe, we’re happy to help you check before use.

Members have access to a shared pottery studio, including use of wheels, communal equiptment, hand building area, shelf space, house glazes, and scheduled kiln firings — plus conversations and moments of laughter that come with working side by side.

Membership does not include instruction, classes, private lessons, clay, firing fees and additional shelf space.

Cone 6 YYC is a self-directed pottery studio centered around shared studio access, with the potential for classes and workshops offereings as the studio evolves.

Not yet. Cone 6 YYC Pottery Studio is in the planning and viability phase.

However, requests for pre-launch memberships are being collected and those interested will be contacted first if the studio moves forward.

Founding Member deposits collected during the planning phase are fully refundable until the studio opens.

If a suitable studio space is not secured, all deposits will be refunded in full.

Once the studio has opened, commitment-based memberships are non-refundable.

Post Launch when the studio is open, pre-paid, commitment based memberships are non-refundable or transferable.

If a member chooses to stop attending, studio access shall remain available for the full duration of the membership term.
